22-23 – Higantes Festival – Angono, Rizal
The festival is in honor of San Clemente whose image, resplendent in papal vestment, is borne by male devotees during a procession. This is accompanied by “pahadores (devotees dressed in colorful local costumes, wooden shoes and carrying boat paddles) and higantes” (giant paper mache effigies). The street event culminates in a fluvial procession in Laguna de Bay amidst revelry that continues until the image is brought back to its sanctuary.

The main purpose is to celebrate the life and culture in the northern part of Luzon. There are programs featuring ethnic songs, different dances, as well as the proud product of that province
